I was hired by a client to shoot a special event at the Perot Museum construction site in Dallas recently. The construction workers were getting treated to a special day of food and fun during the building’s topping out ceremony. My client needed casual portraits of all the workers involved in the construction process, as well as images of the event itself.
During the lunch break, Ross Perot (the museum’s main donor and namesake sponsor) showed up and visited with everyone. What makes him so special… so cool? Well, instead of just spending his time with the other executives at the event, Ross actually took the time to walk around and thank all the workers – the blue collar guys – for their involvement in the project! He shook hands and gave countless heartfelt thanks to everyone he saw. I’d have to say that was pretty cool of him!
